Calitown.com sources in Abuja, Nigeria’s seat of government say, Joy Emordi, recently sacked Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters to President Goodluck Jonathan, was a victim of the complex ‘Old’ and ‘New’ political tussle, after it emerged that she had disagreed with the alleged inducement of the House of Reps members with $25, 000 eack, to ensure that some activities do not hold in the House.
Emordi, our sources continue, advised against the move, saying if it blows, it may further worsen the relationship between the House and the Presidency. It was this position that irked one serving minister into enagaing Emordi in a shouting bout in the Presidential Villa, accusing her before the President of not “being loyal”. Emordi, feeling as Jonathan’s aide she ought to tell him the truth, stood her grounds but lost out in a manner described as “vicious and calculated”.
Meanwhile, Tunji Olagunju, until his sacking alongside Emordi’s, the S.A on New Partnership for African Development, NEPAD, calitown.com can authoritatively reveal, was mid-air, in a First Class British Airways flight en-route the United Nations General Assembly in New York, when his sacking was announced. He only learnt of it when his plane touched down in London at 3pm. Sources are yet to ascertain why his removal was effected while he was sent on a national assignment.
