Victor Ndoma-Egba, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adhoc Committee in Cross River State, charged with the responsibility of pruning the number of governorship aspirants from 16 to four, has declared that the committee has “…no constitutional powers to disqualify anybody, our assignment is to persuade some aspirants to see the need to allow us trim the number to what we can manage as we prepare for the polls.”
Ndoma-Egba made this declaration in Calabar, during the committee’s inauguration by Alphonsus Eba, Chairman of the APC in CRS. Eba who supported Ndoma-Egba’s declaration and further added that the idea was to reduce the number of aspirants to a manageable size. Any aspirants, he insisted, dissatisfied with the outcome of the committee’s report, can then go ahead to buy the form.
Checks by www.calitown.com revealed that the committee has a subtle mandate to recommend four aspirants, two from CR Central and another two from CR South.
