James Anam, elected chairman of Calabar municipality in yesterday’s local council elections in Cross River State, says his administrative style as chairman, will make residents of the municipality know that, “the Moses of our time has come.”
Anam who spoke with correspondents of local radio station, Hit 95.9 FM, shortly after casting his vote yesterday, came clear that, “I am committed to leading my people and leading them well. I have always lived among my people and my political trajectory has risen because in all the political opportunities to serve that God has granted me, I have served as a servant, brought forth to lead the people to the promised land.”
“I am committed to deliberately ensuring that everybody in Calabar municipality will see and enjoy the dividends of democracy because there is so much suffering in the land. Our governance model will be people centred, tailored after that of our state governor, who is redefining governance in Cross River. He is setting a good example and I have no reason not to copy a model that is good, beneficial to the people and visibly working.”
He also came clear that, “if I provide purposeful leadership, there will be purposeful followership that will enhance the work we have set out to do. It is on this note that I am seeking the positive collaboration of all and sundry, to follow me, the Moses of our time, so that we will make haste and reach the promise land.”
