Tragedy struck in Big Qua, Calabar, Monday afternoon when an unemployed young man, simply identified as Emman, stabbed to death another young man in his mid-twenties, incidentally also called Emman in circumstances that are still fuzzy, www.calitown.com can reveal.
The stabbing which was to the neck, occurred at about several minutes to three O’clock and drew a large crowd of residents in the area who gathered and tried to convey the victim to the General Hospital, Calabar, for medical attention. Even as the victim was being conveyed to the hospital, www.calitown.com sources say his condition was critical as he had slipped into unconsciousness. It was further discovered that medics at the General Hospital, Calabar, referred the case to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH, where authorities are said to have demanded for a police report before the victim could be attended to.
When www.calitown.com arrived UCTH, late this evening, a black police van with the inscription, “Operation Scolombo”, numbered 014, brought in the victim, sprawled at the back of the van, visibly dead. The mother of the suspect, sporting a sky blue blouse, who had been arrested in the absence of the suspect, sat at the back of the van with four well armed policemen, conveying the corpse to the morgue.
