Shem Obafaiye, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps man who became very popular after his “Oga at the Top” gaffe went viral, has finally opened up.
Obafaiye revealed in an interview monitored by calitown.com that he has “nothing much to say than to bless God for every thing… the people who thought there were going to ruin me did not know that they would end up announcing my destiny”. He went further to say his brother-in-law plans to link him up to an advertising agency that hopes to brand the cliche for him.
On how his family took his gaffe, Obafaiye said, “they took it calmly especially too that on the day of the interview, 16th of March, 2013, was the day I buried my father”.
For Channels Television, the station that conducted and aired the live interview, he believes, will find it rather difficult to attract participants to the live programme because they “will be very sceptical now and henceforth”.
The NSCDC man in response to the gist making the rounds that he did not go to school, responded that, “many of my classmates are in top positions in Nigeria… I can mention a lot of them… including the Attorney General of Lagos State”, while also saying that when he saw the “Oga at the Top” T-shirt all over, he “wanted to buy one” but shelved those plans for personal reasons. He has since been tranfered from Lagos to Ibadan and “was not demoted” as widely reported in the media, the man concluded.
