The publication by Southern Examiner states that our principal, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo, a frontline governor aspirant of the PDP is planning to dump the PDP to APC in pursuit of political relevance is not only skewed but dubious, and does not depict professionalism as expected in the media profession.
As sadly as the narrative intends to curry public sympathy for itself and attract traffic to its site, the author and the site administrator left one important index of the media profession, which is balanced reportage. We make bold to state that Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo during his widely-publicized press conference early this year had stated clearly that his campaign office will always be open to entertaining questions from the media bothering on his aspiration.
He has also made his position clear in several live broadcasts and publications in several media that he is vying for the office of the governor in the PDP, and had not and has not at any point contemplated jumping the gun from the PDP to APC or any other party. Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo is a party man, a grassrooter, and a principled person who is propelled by passion and service to reposition the state by consolidating on the visions of the three governors before him; Duke, Imoke and Ayade.
We find it very disturbing that Mr. Anthony Ita Etim, the administrator of Southern Examiner could fall prey to this cheap and outlandish ploy seen common in yellow journalism which is only mischievous but unethical.
We wish to state that there were no issues about the recently conducted ad hoc delegates election as purported by Southern Examiner as this assignment was carried out peacefully without hitches to completion. Our party is very united in the tasks ahead to win all her elections, and we have full confidence in the leadership of the party to accomplish this feat.
We appeal to the public to kindly disregard the spin doctor pen pusher for this paid mischief. His piece lacks basic journalese or newsworthiness. If anything, it raises ethical questions of his morality bordering on indignant source credibility. He simply cited “ghost” names to back up his falsehood and scornfully negated fair play objectivity.
As critical stakeholders who are well established and grounded in the geopolitics and development of Akamkpa/Biase Constituency, we dare to contradict his reportage and to accordingly state the facts categorically clear that, for now, there’s no person in Akamkpa known as or going by the name and identity of Justine Agbor. And no person’s misperceived identity of, or deliberate reference to a fictitious John Uno purported by the author to originate from Biase, should agitate the public sensibilities to take such junk narratives; not even for the value of a penny.
The publication is the sore beans menu. It is quackery, for short. If it was an attempt to scuttle the minds of our teeming supporters notably the delegates ahead of the gubernatorial primary, we want to state categorically that Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo is focused on the tasks ahead to rebuilding Cross River State with God. We enjoin our teeming supporters, the delegates to remain committed and focused on the apostolic mission ahead.
