Reports being monitored by calitown.com have revealed that further cracks in the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, may be responsible for former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, walking out on the Convention of the party holding at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
Accordingly the reports add, with the governors of Jigawa, Sokoto, Niger, Rivers, Adamawa and Kwara in tow, his group has gone on to elect parallel national officers for the party.
Meanwhile, the PDP in Anambra State, took her perenial show of shame to the national stage as supporters of Andy Uba and Tony Nwoye, the two gubenitorial candidates of the party in the state, engaged each other in a free for all fight at the Convention grounds. We hear Nwoye’s supporters at the venue, had attempted to yank Chris Uba, Andy’s younger brother, off his seat, a move Uba’s supporters resisted. Our man on the ground added that blows were freely exchanged by both camps before order was restored.
Uba and Nwoye it will be recalled, are backed by rival PDP factions in the state.
