Competent Abuja sources early Thursday morning informed www.calitown.com that John Owan Enoh, senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District in Nigeria’s Senate, will leave the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and formally declare for the All Progressives Congress, APC, mid next week, in a move that finally confirms the end his of frosty relationship with Ben Ayade, governor of Cross River State. While news of his imminent formal declaration has been under wraps, www.calitown.com got the assurances of a top Nasarawa State born APC member that the declaration will hold next week.
Again, the source hinted at the imminent defection from the PDP to the APC of another top political figure in the House of Representative, HOR, from Cross River State. Pressed to reveal the identity of the HOR’s member, our source spoke figuratively that the figure in question is from CR’s Southern Senatorial District and he is not a neophyte in the lesser legislative house.
Meanwhile, a contact meeting between Special Assistant to President Buhari on Prosecutions, Okoi Obono-Obla and John Owan Enoh, has been held at the instance of the former. While the agenda was not made public, observers in Abuja say the meeting was used by Owan Enoh to commence the cultivation of a political relationship that clearly targets 2019 political activities. Owan Enoh and Obono-Obla come from the same senatorial district and with the recent mending of fences between Obono-Obla and Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Usani Usani, Owan Enoh is teaming up with those he believes can help him confront a Ben Ayade, resolutely committed to denying Owan Enoh safe political passage in 2019.
