John Owan Enoh, the senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial district has publicly told his supporters that even though his local government area, Etung, has the second highest number of political appointees in the Ben Ayade administration, he has capacity and will floor all of them politically, irrespective of whatever political tactics may be employed by the Cross River State governor, to halt his political progression.
The senator while addressing a large gathering of supporters who witnessed his much anticipated defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in his Etung ward, appears to have set the ball rolling in what promises to be a political head on collision with Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade for the soul of Cross River State. While he is believed to enjoy massive support in Cross River’s Central Senatorial district, his work is not cut short.
We were informed that Enoh had before now tried to see Ayade on a few occasions but was severally directed by the governor to liaise with the governor’s brother, information we are yet to verify. This and attempts by the governor to deny Enoh a return to the Senate via the PDP platform, hastened his defection to the APC.
At the ceremony proper today, Enoh signed the APC register in his ward in the presence of APC Vice Chairman Central, Cletus Obun, acting state chairman of the APC, John Ochala and a mammoth crowd of supporters.
