
The Catholic Bishop of Ogoja, Rt. Rev. Dr. Donatus Edet Akpan will on Friday 19th November 2021 celebrate a memorial mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Akparabong, Ikom, Cross River State at 11am in memory of late Amaka Lauretta Ndoma-Egba, wife of former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba and founder of Start-Rite Schools, Abuja who died in a motor accident on the Ore-Okitipupa Road in Ondo State on Thursday, November 19 2020. His Lordship will also dedicate the St. Lauretta’s Chapel of Adoration built by Ndoma-Egba in her remembrance, within the church’s premises.
On December 11, 202, the first anniversary of her burial, a memorial mass will be celebrated at the Church of The Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja by His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja who will be assisted by the Auxiliary Bishop of Abuja, Rt. Rev. Dr. Anselem Umoren at 12 noon. A maiden Amaka Ndoma-Egba Memorial Lecture focusing on “LEADERSHIP, LEGACY AND CHANGE” will hold same day by 4:30pm at Start-Rite Schools, Abuja. It will be delivered by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General, World Trade Organization.
The event will be chaired by Tony Elumelu, Chairman, Heirs Holdings. It will be followed by the unveiling of the Victor and Amaka Ndoma-Egba Foundation. The evening will also feature readings by Dike Chukwumerije.
