
A five-day free medical outreach sponsored by the senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has flagged-off at the Roman Catholic Mission Hospital, Moniaya, Ogoja LGA, Cross River State.
Represented at the flag off by his Constituency Officer, Egar Mgbantul, the senator maintained that the outreach is basically to render health services to his constituents who are largely rural people, often without adequate means to medicare access.

“The senator is passionate about the well-being of his people, especially their healthcare because he believes that only a healthy populace could keep the society going and guarantee sustainable socioeconomic life”, his Constituency Officer revealed.

Josephine Bassey, leader of the medical team on ground, disclosed that patients are undergoing Blood Sugar, Hepatitis and Blood Pressure tests. Other tests include, RVD, Malaria, Kidney Function test, Liver Function test, Lipid Profile among other health conditions, pointing out that treatment is free while cases requiring surgery are being handled simultaneously.
On the first day of the outreach, she revealed that only patients from Bekwarra Local Government Area, were attended to, while other LGAs have been properly scheduled to cover for the remaining days of the programme.
Journalists monitoring the exercise in Monaiya, saw scores of persons showing up for the free medical exercise. Some beneficiaries spoken to, insist that the lawmaker has continued to deliver on his promises to constituents, putting the people at the forefront of his programmes and policies. They prayed that God should strengthen him and give him the enablement to continue with the good works he is known for.
