- Solar powered boreholes coming
The trio of Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Senator, Cross River North Senatorial District, Peter Akpanke and Godwin Offiono representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency and Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, respectively, have distributed N54M million naira and six thousand bags of 50kg rice to their constituents for the Christmas celebration.
Jarigbe who pronounced the gifts when he led Akpanke and Offiono on a visit to the five local government areas of Cross River North Senatorial District to mark the Christmas celebration, further disclosed that each ward in the district will get the sum of N1m and 30 bags of 50kg rice.
He re-emphasized the reason for the season, adding that Christmas is a season of love, unity and peaceful coexistence irrespective of ethnic, social and religious differences.
Akpanke and Offiono, in seperate addresses to their constituents in the course of the visits, encouraged them to always remain united and queue behind their political leaders while appreciating constituents for the support and cooperation they have enjoyed so far.
Constituents and stakeholders present during the multiple visits, were full of appreciation to the lawmakers for their constant support and impactful leadership. They prayed for them, asking that God will continue to strengthen them as well as grant them the enablement to achieve their respective political goals.
Meanwhile, Jarigbe has laid it bare that, Bebuabong and Betukwel communities in Obudu LGA, Anyikang and Nyanya in Bekwarra LGA, and Nfuma-Ntrigom and Itega Okpame in Yala LGA, are to benefit from the construction of solar-powered boreholes, to guarantee all year round drinking water supply.
“Access to clean, affordable, and drinkable water is a fundamental human right that I must respect. Although I may not be able to do everything, I want to ensure that at least every community has good water to drink”, Jarigbe emphatically stated.
