Ingwu Appointed Acting VC Of CRUTECH

Emmanuel Onimke Ingwu, a Professor of Education, www.calitown.com can report, has been appointed the acting Vice Chancellor of the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, with immediate effect.

While it had been widely rumoured that Ingwu was long anointed to this position by the Cross River State Government, his announcement today confirmed fears expressed in some quarters that the institution’s VC selection process will be dictated by political and not educational considerations.

Recall too that Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council, Emil Inyang, had informed www.calitown.com (https://www.calitown.com/crutech-governing-council-chair-assures-on-new-vc-but/)that the advertisement of the VC vacancy in CRUTECH will be done soon. The concerns however remain that this appointment may be orchestrated to get in the way of any alternative selection process. “You people have to understand that his appointment in an acting capacity does not mean he has been made the substantive VC, which technically means that Emil Inyang is not wrong”, a source in the institution told us over the phone.

Ingwu who was born on November 7, 1958, hails from Ohong Village in Obudu LGA, Cross River State. He attended Government Secondary School, Obudu, St. Thomas Teachers’ Training College, Ogoja, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, before proceeding to the University of Ibadan for his Masters’ degree in Education as well as a Doctorate degree in Industrial Education.
