Akpanke who spoke while distributing the items, further disclosed that, he started planning for this exercise, three months ago and had no inkling that the #EndBadGovernance protest, was going to take place. He maintained exclusively to www.calitown.com that “from time to time, I go home to my people, spend time and do a thorough needs assessment exercise, with a view to offering assistance in areas my personal finances can accommodate. This distribution exercise was informed by the needs assessment exercise, no more, no less. As a representative of my people, I need to make sacrifices for them like they have done for me, it is clear in my head.”
In separate events in the three LGAs that make up his constituency, Akpanke told large crowds drawn from the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Cyclist Union, farmers, market women associations, the Catholic Women Organisation, CWO, Muslim community, Igbo community, women, youths and others that, “I took it upon myself to support my people and alleviate the hardship faced by my constituents and Nigerians at large,”
“As your representative, I feel your plight and challenges which have increased overtime due to the current economic situation of our Nation. This is why I decided to provide this support from my personal resources to see how I can better the situation in any little way that I can, pending when our expectations are met by the government. At this critical time, I left Abuja to come and stay with you and also urge you all to continue praying for your representatives in government at all levels for I believe that better days are coming.”

He described him as a shepherd who is always concerned about the well-being of his flock and stated that people must be alive before they can hope for the better. Other beneficiaries through their leaders, took turns to appreciate Akpanke for his kind gesture and applauded his empathetic representation which has been peoples oriented.
