Jerome Egbe, the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, Engineering lecturer who was kidnapped in Calabar, days ago and fortunately released alive by his abductors, has revealed that “God was with me”, throughout the period of his ordeal, and was responsible for his release from those who abducted him.
Egbe who spoke exclusively with www.calitown.com, early this morning, added that what he experienced was better imagined. “Can you imagine that, l almost blind and I am having serious eye pains”, an effect he directly attributes to the amount of time he remained blindfolded.
We can also reveal that the victim did not immediately recount events, action or identities of the suspects who forcefully took him or the places he was taken to, for security reasons. But top Department of State Security, DSS, officials in Calabar, who pleaded anonymity, informed www.calitown.com that, ” when we tracked the phone, it showed us that the phone was picking signals from an Aba, Abia State, located telecommunications mast.”
Asked if he was politically deterred by this kidnap, Egbe was resolute that he is still in the race to represent Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representatives. He also used the period of his interaction with www.calitown.com to inform the general public that, “…they should be resolute and firm … their PVCs will make the difference. This is just diversionary tactics to distract our focus and cause panic among my teeming supporters.” He has since reunited with his family.
