Sources inside the University of Calabar, Cross River State, informed www.calitown.com late Monday evening that the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, James Epoke and bursar, Peter Agi, were guests of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for financial impropriety. Their parley with the EFCC is not unconnected with series of petitions that seem to trail the end of Epoke’s tenure as V-C.
The Pro-Chancellor of the institution, multi-millionaire, Emmanuel Iwanyanwu is said to have intervened, securing administrative bail for the two principal officers of the university.
