On a courtesy call to the Speaker, Cross River State House of Assembly, Youths of Ediba community, Abi Local Government Area under the aegis of Ediba Youths Association, Calabar chapter have passed a vote of confidence on the Speaker, John Gaul Lebo, for his leadership role in the development of their community Abi Loval Government Area and what they described as “superlative legislative performance” as member and Speaker of the Assembly.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the President of the Association,
Friday Udo Efit said the Association was in the Speaker’s Office to
show their solidarity and appreciation for his leadership role in the
maintenance of peace and development in Abi.
According to Efit, after a careful assessment of the activities,
achievements and contributions of the Speaker to the development of
his constituents and Cross River State as a whole, the group
unanimously passed an unwavering vote of confidence on the Speaker,
and urged him to continue with his good works as the youths of his
constituency are solidly behind him.
Congratulating the Speaker on his re-election to the House of
Assembly, he asserted that his elevation to is a sign of his worthy
stewardship during his first tenure in the House, adding that the
people of Ediba and the whole of Abi are proud of the Speaker’s
representation.
Responding, John Gaul Lebo who expressed delight over the visit said
that the Ediba Youths Association is strategic to the development of
Ediba people.
While thanking the group for their support during his elections and
for passing a vote of confidence on him, the Speaker used the
opportunity to announce his development and empowerment packages to
his constituency.
Lebo disclosed that soon, communities in Abi Local Government will be
approached to identify the constituency project of their choice to be
executed by him and announced too that his constituency office in Abi
has been converted to a food bank for the storage of food items to be
distributed to the less privileged in his constituency.
The Speaker revealed that some youths from the area were already
undergoing skill acquisition training at the Entrepreneurship
Development Centre, EDC, Calabar, under his sponsorship, assuring them that his annual bursary and scholarships for the year would soon
commence.
