Former governor of Cross River State and presidential hopeful on the Social Democratic Party, SDP, platform, Donald Duke, we have gathered, has swiftly made overtures to protesting members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, with a view to making them swell SDP ranks in the state.
As a first step, www.calitown.com, was informed that the likes of Ekpo Okon, Edward Ogon, Emil Inyang and others, have been contacted to move over to the SDP so they can actualize their political ambitions away from the PDP, which has carefully denied them a level playing political field. We also gathered that while Duke and the SDP tried to put a meeting together with the aggrieved aspirants, but that meeting has been pushed forward because some of those pencilled down for the meeting were invited to the PDP headquarters in Abuja.
Meanwhile, one of the protesting aspirants, former State Security Adviser, Jude Ngaji, may have finally severed links with CRS governor, Ben Ayade, as political sources claim he has obtained a declaration of intent and nomination form from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to vie for the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency seat in the House of Reps.
