Cross River State Commissioner for Water Resources, Godwin Ettah, has on the occasion of the year 2020 Democracy Day in Nigeria, commended state governor, Ben Ayade, for his untiring efforts at selflessly driving governance in the state. He equally commends the human development and sustenance efforts of the governor something that has so far created gainful employment for several indigenes of the state.
Ettah who exclusively spoke with www.calitown.com in Calabar, stated too that the development successes so far achieved by the governor, are direct products of his deep thinking and vision for the state. This deep thinking and vision, he further explained, “have better flourished because of the situational benefits of our democratic system of government.”
He was of the opinion that, while it is not possible to satisfy the yearnings and aspirations of all manner of persons in the state, what the governor has done so far, especially with his modest on-going industrialization drive, “demonstrates clearly that he has refused to be held back by serial pessimism, the kind that makes kings of armchair critics.”
“For instance, if you look at how our garment factory has seamlessly risen to the occasion in the face of this COVID-19 pandemic, you just must appreciate the vision behind its establishment. Now we are churning out large numbers of protective gear for use by our people and a larger Nigerian populace outside, imagine the gap this vision is filling and then imagine too the gulf that would have been there if he did not have the vision to set this place up; I tell you, the consequences for us and several others would have been dire”, Ettah said.
The Commissioner prayed that God will strengthen the governor, just like he sued for support from all and sundry so that the vision to deliver due democratic dividends to Cross River State will not wane.
