The 25 members of the Cross River State House of Assembly, yesterday, each took delivery of a brand new Ford Ranger truck, said to have been given to them by the state government to aid in the discharge of their legislative functions, www.calitown.com can report.
Late yesterday evening, on the grounds of the Cultural Centre, Calabar, where the vehicles were parked, several of the House members and their aides could be seen collecting keys to the vehicles and accordingly driving them out of the place to their private residences. None of the House members on ground at the time of filing this report volunteered any information.
However, www.calitown.com sources say the vehicles were supplied by Cosmos Maduka’s Coscharis Motors, which seems to have cornered all vehicle supply contracts awarded by the Cross River State Government. The next batch of cars will be supplied to Commissioners, Special Advisers, when state governor, Ben Ayade, forwards names to the House for ratification. Special Assistants and other levels of aides it has been confirmed will benefit to close up the vehicle supply deal.
