It has been confirmed to www.calitown.com that Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission Chairman, Patrick Otu, contrary to talk making the rounds, is not a member of the Yakurr Patriotic Front, the group within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which over the weekend, in his native Yakurr LGA, began pushing for concerted efforts to arrest “the declining political fortunes of PDP in Yakurr”.
An aide to the CROSIEC boss explained that his principal as head of the electoral body, sees himself as an umpire and not a player in the political games presently playing out in most parts of the state. He wondered why those peddling this information are bent on propagating misinformation when “we should be more concerned with getting our electoral processes right”. He further explained that in recent times, those. who have consistently tried to cast aspersions on the integrity of his boss, have found in the long run that it is an exercise in futility. The aide who did not want his name in print, assured all men and women of goodwill that attempts at distracting his principal will yield nothing as Otu is stoutly committed to upholding the principles he stands for as well as meeting the demands of his office.
Recall that shortly after last weekend’s Yakurr Patriotic Front rally in Ugep where the group carpeted the leadership of House of Representatives member, Bassey Ewa, blaming him for what it described as “pitiable and … incompetent political leadership in Yakurr…”, word began making the rounds and even on social network sites that the CROSIEC Chairman was urging the group on. He is said to be uncomfortable with th latest attack on his person.

we know he is a good man of reputable character and upholds his principles with integrity. As long as those “black legs” out there are not tired of doing things of this nature, men of goodwill will not stop correcting their errors and doing good.
LONG LIVE CROSIEC AND CRS
