In a short Facebook post, only minutes ago, recently re-elected House of Representatives member, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has lashed out and openly frowned at the decision to expunge names of some political appointees in Cross River State from the payroll, over what has been described as punishment for their anti-party activities.
Jarigbe who represents Ogoja/Yala Federal Constutuency, came clear in his post titled “WE ARE ALL EQUAL” and emphatically stated thus:
“For all those who got their names struck out from the CRS Payroll, on grounds of anti party activities, pls go and pledge loyalty to the Governor through Local Govt Leaders and appeal for your reinstatement. The anti party was against the House of Reps Election and not Governorship. I don’t see any reason why DGs, Chairmen of Boards and Special Advisers who did anti party are still being paid, while other small appointees are being punished. Let’s be fair. This isnt’ justice. Pls let’s pay our people . They have families and we all know that life isnt’ easy. No double standards pls. No human is superior to the other.”
The published thoughts are receiving rave reviews and commendation on his Facebook wall and beyond, for being spot on and addressing an issue key political actors in the state have turned their backs on.
There is even the allegations making the rounds that some of the appointees whose names were taken off the payroll and salaries subsequently stopped are being victimised by a defective political system, designed to benefit a faceless few.
