The PDP in Cross River State officially flagged off her campaign for the 2015 polls, in Ogoja, Norty of CR yesterday, with an impressive show of strength that will perhaps send signals to other political parties in the state that the party is ready for the elections.
Led by state governor, Liyel Imoke, the PDP presented her gubernatorial candidature, Ben Ayade and the likes of Legor Idagbo and Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, vieing for the two House of Representatives seat in the North of CR as well as an absent Rose Oko, gunning for reelection into the Senate. Her State House of Assembly candidates in the district, were also introduced at the occasion. Ayade’s speech it was, that lit up the Ogoja township stadium, with supporters urging him on as he inspired the crowd with the grass to grace story of his life.
Speaking at the event, Imoke urged those who have decided to support the candidates the PDP paraded, to begin the journey by obtaining their Permanent Voters’ Card, PVC. He also told the crowd gathered that without the PVC, most voters will be disenfranchised and unable to massively support PDP candidates. Voting he maintained is a civic duty that our people must embrace if they are to make informed political decisions. Those who also spoke at the occasion towed the governor’s line and urged all present to heed the call so that the party’s victory at the polls will be resounding.
However, low marks were scored Imoke and his enourage for arriving the venue of the occasion, several hours after the advertised time for the commencement of the event.
