Perhaps as a way of lending his voice to the very thorny issue of who becomes the next governor of CRS, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Chairman, SURE-P, Cross River State and a visible political servant from the North of CRS has informed www.calitown.com that his indigenous North of CR, needs maturity to unite and narrow down to one person who will be acceptable to the larger CR if she must produce a governor. That maturity he insists must see people become selfless, concede and shift positions so that an implosion which will have a negative multiplier effect on the North as a people, can be avoided.
Jarigbe who spoke exclusively with www.calitown.com, further explained that the PDP caucus from the North must work very hard to achieve, in her political harmonization processes, the kind of synergy that will in turn provide fertile grounds for the “cross-fertilization of inclinations” capable of giving CR a good governor, something he is convinced the caucus has not yet achieved.
On the kind of governor CR needs in 2015, he minced no words when he insisted that
“CR needs someone with the intellectual capacity, the right exposure and the contacts to drive the entire machinery of government. Someone who can embark on financial engineering because more than ever before, this state needs that kind of person as our state is not financially empowered”.
The CR political class he continues, must work closely at identifying the peculiar needs of the state, this he believes can through administrative convenience also help “our leadership to achieve acceptable political solutions because often, party guidelines may tell you what to do but they don’t tell you everything to do and since what is laid down is not exhaustive, nothing stops us from being ingenious in charting our collective political path”, he concluded.
