Cross River State deputy governor, Ivara Ejemot Esu, will on Monday, April 25, 2016, flag-off in Calabar, the 2016 World Malaria Day from 9 a.m. The event will also feature a city walk from the millennium park to the Zoo Garden, Mary Slessor Avenue.
Betta Edu, Director-General of the Cross River State Primary Health Care Agency, who disclosed the information to www.calitown.com, also informed that, free malaria testing and treatment will be available in all primary health care facilities across the state, just like insecticide treated malaria bed nets will be distributed free to members of the public.
This year’s theme is “End Malaria For Good” and the World Malaria Day she further disclosed “provides a common platform for states to showcase successes in malaria control and unify diverse initiatives in the changing global context”.
