As at 6pm yesterday, Saturday, March 16, 2019, sources in Calabar have informed www.calitown.com that as a direct fallout from the just concluded National Assembly elections, 11 electoral suits are headed for hearing in court to lay to rest whatever contentions arose between those who contested and lost elections.
A breakdown of this figure shows that, former Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, chairman, Victor Ndoma Egba will contest in court, Sandy Onor’s senatorial victory in CR’s Central Senatorial District, just like Jude Ngaji is challenging Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe’s victory in the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency.
Mkpanam Obo v. Daniel Asuquo (Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency), Akiba Akiba v. Eta Mbora (Calabar Municipality/ Odukpani), Egbe Abeng v. Michael Etaba (Obubra/Etung), John Gaul v. APC, (Abi/Yakurr) Sen.Bassey Otu v. Gershom Bassey (Southern Senatorial District) Victor Abang v. Chris Agibe (Ikom/Boki) Dominic Aqua Edem v. Essien Ayi (Akpabuyo/Bakassi, Cal. South) and Wabilly Nyiam v. Rose Oko (Northern Senatorial District), are the other cases filed in the tribunal set up to handle National Assembly election petitions.
