We can authoritatively reveal that two young men of Iso Bendeghe extraction, were yesterday evening captured after they attempted an armed attack on neighbouring Boje, Boki LGA, Cross River Central, as hostilities between both communities resumed.
The attempt on Boje is believed to be somewhat linked to the conflict between both communities, two years ago. Picture evidence secretly obtained by www.calitown.com show the two captured men draped in charms and their blood. “The situation in Boje is very bad oh. Please call whoever you know to help”, one Gilbert Bankong said in a text. Two Boje indigenes, Awang Napoleon and one other simply identified as Chikala, have been killed, we can also confirm.
Another indigene of Boje, texted in thus: “… I spoke with the State Security Adviser and I don’t like his response”. Jude Ngaji, the SSA, was unavailable for comments when contacted to react.
However, Hafiz Inuwa, CRS Commissioner of Police, told www.calitown.com that, “the Divisional Police Officer of the area informed me that there’s a reverend father in the area who has been pushing for peace and further that when our men arrived the communities, the people were pelting them with stones”; he quickly promised to immediately reach the DPO. Just before press time, www.calitown.com was informed that clearly acting on the CP’s immediate response, security personnel have arrived the area.
