As a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade will today at 11am, inaugurate the 15-man response committee recently set up by the government.
The committee is headed by the Commissioner for Health, Betta Edu while the Commissioner for Finance, Asuquo Ekpenyong is the Secretary. Other members of the committee include, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Martin Orim, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Asu Okang, Commissioner for Agriculture, Commissioner for Humanitarian and Welfare Services.
Alfred Mboto, John Agim, the DG, Cross River Food Bank, DG, Primary Healthcare Agency, State Epidemiologist , Ministry of Health, DG, Border Communities Development Commission, Special Adviser, Security (North), Special Adviser, Security (Central) and the Special Adviser, Security (South), complete the list.
The committee is further divided into seven sub-committees with chairmen as follows: Medical supplies and management – Commissioner for Health, Prevention and Control- DG, Primary Healthcare Agency, Food Supplies- DG, CRS Food Bank, Enforcement and Compliance- John Agim, Logistics- Chief of Staff to the governor, Finance- Commissioner for Finance and Welfare- Commissioner for Humanitarian and Welfare Services
A Government House press release clearly states that the inauguration will hold at the Executive Council Chambers while sitting arrangement will conform with existing protocols on social distancing.
