Cross River Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, Benedict Ayade grabbed a commanding 342,016 votes to defeat APC’s Odey Ochicha who came second with a distant 53,983 and Labour Party’s Fidelis Ugbo who scored 36,918, in the gubernatorial election conducted this past Saturday. His victory crowns what one observer describes as “the untiring efforts of the man and his party to remain in Peregrino House for another four years.
An ecstatic chairman of the PDP in CRS, John Achort Okon told www.calitown.com, not too long ago that contrary to what many people thought, the PDP has proven again that it is the party Cross Riverians have embraced with one mind and body and further that the margin of votes given Ayade shows clearly that the party made a good choice in picking him as her candidate.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed to www.ccalitown.com that the APC gubernatorial candidate, Odey Ochicha has called to congratulate Ayade on the victory and further promised to work with him in the interest of the state.

The peoples’ mandate will always give way for peace and resounding victory, unlike what was seen in Yakurr/Abi House of reps due to wrong choice imposed on electorate, saturday’s election showed the difference, Crossrivarians are not against PDP, but the choice of candidate given to them.
