As the harsh economic situation in Nigeria take on dire consequences for everyday living in the country, Thomas Ofem, who recently contested the senatorial primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Cross River Central Senatorial District is insisting that, the electorate in Nigeria and those in Cross River State particularly, must ensure that the “APC Will Not, Shall Not, Must Not Win In CRS”.
Ofem, popular as Bob T, who took to his verified Facebook page to make this pronouncement, told www.calitown.com when exclusively confronted that, “the hardship visited on Nigerians through the mis-informed and archaic financial policies of this clueless APC government, has gone further to impoverish Nigerians.”
“Hasn’t the APC’s unplanned and haphazardly implemented cash policy seen hapless Nigerians buying naira notes with naira notes. God…in the past three months, Nigerians have had to spend endless hours in petrol stations waiting to buy fuel and as we speak the average coast of a liter of petrol is N400. Does it take a soothsayer to tell our people that voting APC back into power is like feeding the snake under your bed?”
Coming down to Cross River State, Ofem maintains that state governor, Ben Ayade, “jumped ship from the PDP to the APC because he was not in tune with the laudable plans of the PDP in Cross River State. The man said he needed to socket to the centre but all right thinking people of Cross River State have now realized that socketing to the center had nothing to do with them. It was Ayade’s personal project.”
For Gov. Ayade’s industrialization drive, Ofem was quick to say that, “to discuss the so called industrialization of CRS by Ayade is to give credence to executive rascality and exuberance. Housing blocks are different from industries. Industries produce and employ. What exactly is CRS currently producing beyond the whole sale rape of our forest products by Ayade’s acolytes?”
Pressed to put a finger on who can best administer Cross River State, post-Ayade, he was of the opinion that, “first, Cross Riverans are not fools. We will vote our oppressors out and return CRS to its rightful place. Sandy Ojong Onor is the only governorship candidate worth discussing; the rest are pretenders to that office. Onor is roundly educated in the true sense of the word. He is a seasoned administrator, an experienced manager of diverse teams and a sitting Senator. Sandy will bring to the CRS Government House the skills, experience and dexterity needed to save our dear state from further decline.”
He was also particular that, “Cross Riverians should get and keep their PVCs ready. They should vote competent candidates into office and refuse to buy into the the back to south refrain of lazy politicians who want power to be given to them on a platter.”
“As we stand, I will vote forAtiku Abubakar because he will reduce the size of government and empower the private sector to take on challenges that are better handled by the private sector. Sandy Onor as governor, will bring the CRS civil service back to its glorious days. He will run the state with a team of experts and professionals instead of with an army of food on the table politicians.”
“Bassey Eko Ewa, will if course bring purposeful and experienced representation to CR Central Senatorial District, just like Eko Atu, who demonstrates an understanding of our rural settings and laws, is best suited for Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the House of Reps. Don’t forget too that, Ewa George Ibiang, the PDP candidate for Yakurr I State Constituency, will be an effective youth voice in the CRS Legislature, if we elect him too”, he concluded.
